FEATURES OF THE 2ND AFRICA CASSAVA CONFERENCE (ACC 2025)

Cassava remains a vital pillar and essential cornerstone of food security and economic sustenance for millions across Africa. With an estimated cumulative output of over 210 million metric tons annually, the continent is a global leader in cassava production.

Governments globally are investing in smart farming solutions, AI-driven crop monitoring, and digital extension services to empower farmers with real-time data for improved decision-making. The 2nd African Cassava Conference, ACC 2025 will unlock more potentials for countries to enhance productivity, improve value addition, and sustainability. The conference aims to bring together stakeholders from governments, research institutions, industry, and farming communities to discuss strategies for leveraging emerging technologies and smart systems to revolutionize cassava production, processing, and market access.

The event themed “Building Sustainable and Quality–Driven Cassava Industries in Africa” covers sub-themes on improved cassava varieties, cultivation, harvesting, processing, and value addition; social issues such as nutrition and land tenure systems; financing and business development of cassava industries; collaborations and partnerships. A critical aspect of this year’s edition will be deliberations on quality assurance, technology, and AI in agri-computing along the cassava value chain.

The ACC Abuja 2025 is organized by the Pan African Alliance of Small and Medium Industries (PAOSMI) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS) and co-hosted by the Nigeria National Accreditation System (NINAS), University of Kinshasa, UNIDO, GAIN (Benin and Nigeria), AUST, SAA, UBA, AFRAC, UNESCO ICB, with support from GISDAD (USA) and the CEGFSD (USA), among others.
